Stateira II was daughter of Stateira I and Darius III of Persia. Sister of Drypteis, and granddaughter of Sisygambis. She was captured, along with her family, at the Battle of Issus. Married Alexander the Great. She was originally bethrothed to Mazaeus, who died in 328 BC.
Stateira was murdered in 323 BC by Roxana (Pl. Alex. 77.4). Arrian calls Stateira "Barsine," but she is not to be confused with Barsine the wife of Memnon of Rhodes (Arr. 7.4.4-8).
