Evangelos Depastas was a Greek athlete in the 800m and the 1500m.

Depastas was born on January 3, 1932 in Athens. He was an athlete of Panionios.

Depastas held the Greek record for the 800m which he broke 8 times, the last time achieved in Koeln, Germany, on July 12, 1958, with 1:49.1. He also held the Greek record for the 1500m which he broke twice, the last time achieved in Sofia, Bulgaria, on September 20, 1958, with 3:44.7.

Among his accomplishments were two bronze medals in the Mediterranean Games of 1955 and 1959 as well as two gold medals in the Balkan Games of 1957.

Depastas died on January 5, 2009 of a heart attack.
