Koutsoukis holds the Greek record for the shot put at 20.74m, achieved on July 16, 1989 in Drama, Macedonia, Greece. He also held, until recently, the indoor record at 20.27, achieved on March 14, 1986 in Oklahoma, USA.
Among his accomplishments was a gold medal in the Mediterranean Games of 1987.
