Nikos Alavantas is a Greek ex-football player.

Alavantas was born on April 13, 1959. He started his career at Orpheus Dikaion, moving on to PAOK Thessaloniki where he played as a regular for a number of years.

Alavantas played mostly as a defender and, sometimes, at midfield. He won the 1985 championship with PAOK and, in 1990, moved to SKODA Xanthi. He ended his career two years later.

Alavantas was capped 31 times for the National Football Team of Greece.
