Pasas or Pasha, (Greek Πασάς), (Turkish Paşa): Honorary title awarded to high ranking officers of the Ottoman Empire. In most cases, a pasha was also the Commander-in-Chief of a province or territory. For example: The Pasas of Crete were also "Commander-in-Chief" of all Crete.
