Douros was born on February 17, 1962 and belonged to the Referee Club of Corinth. He became an international FIFA referee in 2000.
Douros officiated in three finals of the Greek Cup and was honored in 1999 as the Referee of the Year by PSAP. On May 9, 2005, he decided to retire from officiating due to a nagging knee injury. His last game was the Allstar Game of May 17, 2005 at the Pancretian Stadium in Heraklion, Crete.
