Founded in 1924 in Nea Ionia, Volos, Niki are considered the club of Asia Minor refugees and their descendants who settled in Volos (whereas Olympiakos Volos are the preferred team of native Voliotes).
They have had a proud history, with several seasons in the A' Division of the Greek National League. They are currently playing in the Greek C' Division, having been relegated from B' Division at the end of the 2007 season.
