Lambros Porfyras was a Greek 20th century poet.

Porfyras was born Dimitrios Sypsomos, in Chios, in 1879. At an early age he moved with his family to Ermoupolis, Syros.

In 1894, while still a student, he had his poem "Thlipsis" (Sorrow) published in Athens daily "Asty". He quickly became popular and even attracted the attention of Kostis Palamas. He studied Law at Athens University but did not complete his studies. In 1900, he travelled to Paris, Rome and London. On his return to Greece he settled in Piraeus, where he stayed until his death οn December 4, 1932, publishing poems in various literary magazines.

During his lifetime, Porfyras published only one collection called "Skies" (Shadows). After his death, his family published another collection called "Musical Voices".

Porfyras was quite popular in his lifetime and was honoured with medals by King Alexander of Greece and Piraeus Mayor Takis Panagiotopoulos.
