Depastas held the Greek record for the 800m which he broke 8 times, the last time achieved in Koeln, Germany, on July 12, 1958, with 1:49.1. He also held the Greek record for the 1500m which he broke twice, the last time achieved in Sofia, Bulgaria, on September 20, 1958, with 3:44.7.
Among his accomplishments were two bronze medals in the Mediterranean Games of 1955 and 1959 as well as two gold medals in the Balkan Games of 1957.
