Konitsa is a town in the municipality of Konitsa in the prefecture of Ioannina, Epirus, Greece.

The population of the town was 2871 inhabitants while that of the municipality 6225, according to the 2001 census.

During the Greek Civil War, Konitsa became a prime objective of the Communist forces who sought to make it the capital of the territories they held. Between December 25, 1947 and January 3, 1948, a fierce battle raged around the town in which the Communist forces of the Democratic Army of Greece were repelled with heavy casualties.
