Danut Lupu is a Romanian football attacking midfielder.

Lupu was born on February 27, 1967 in Galati, Romania. He was in the Romanian squad for the 1990 World Cup and immediately afterwards transferred to Panathinaikos. Despite his good footballing skills, he proved to be a liability with his difficult character and was off-loaded first to Korinthos FC then to OFI. In 1994, Lupu left Greece.
