Apostolos Kontos is a Greek retired basketball player.

Kontos was born on November 22, 1947. He started his career at Ionikos Nea Philadelphia and transferred to Panathinaikos BC in the early 1970s. At Panathinaikos, Kontos won 9 league titles (1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1982) and two Greek Cups (1979, 1982).

At age 39, Kontos transferred to AEK BC becoming the second oldest Greek A1 League basketball player to be traded. He retired in February 1987.

During his career, Kontos played in 114 games with the National Basketball Team of Greece. He scored 1,114 points

Kontos coached AEK during the 1994 season.[1]
