Kostas Politis was a Greek basketball player and coach.
Politis was born in Athens in 1942. As a player, he was a member of Near East and later Panathinaikos. He played 41 times for the National Basketball Team of Greece from 1961 to 1967. As a coach, he began his career in the youth system of Panathinaikos. Later, he coached Arionas and Apollonas and finally, in 1978, he managed to become head coach of Panathinaikos. In that capacity, he led the team to three consecutive Greek championships, 2 Greek Basketball Cups and a 6th place in European Club championship in 1982.
In the May of 1982, he became the head coach of the National team. Politis was at the helm of Greece when they won Eurobasket 1987.
