- 1818: Theodoros Kolokotronis joins the Friendly Society (Filiki Eteria).
- 1834: The capital of Greece moves to Athens from Nafplion
- 1893: Charilaos Trikoupis declares bankruptcy for Greece and is credited with the quote "Δυστυχώς επτωχεύσαμεν" ("Unfortunately, we're bankrupt!") that he uttered while attending a parliamentary session.
- 1913: Crete officially becomes part of Greece. King Constantine I and Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos preside on an official ceremony of the raising of the Greek flag on Fort of Firkas Bastion.
