Kythrea

Kythrea is a city in Lefkosia province, Cyprus. It is situated 13km NE of the capital, Lefkosia on the southern foothills of the Pentadaktylos mountain range.

Kythrea has been under Turkish military occupation since August, 1974. Prior to that, its population of 3,000 was over 99% Greek.
