Mark I of Byzantium

Mark I (Greek Μάρκος Α') was Bishop of Byzantium from 198 until 211 AD.

During his reign, emperor Septimus Severus persecuted the Christian church. Due to the persecution, Bishop Mark I may have gone underground for part of his tenure.
