Polycarpus I of Byzantium

Polycarpus I was elected Bishop of Byzantium some time after the death of Bishop Onesimus. He remained on the throne until 89 AD when he died.
During the last eight years of Polycarpus' episcopacy, the persecution of Emperor Dometian against the Christians took place.
