'''Yiannis Stournaras''' is a [[Greeks|Greek]] economist, university professor and cabinet Minister.

Stournaras was born on [[December 10]], [[1956]] in [[Athens]]. He studied  Economics at the [[University of Athens]] with graduate studies at the University of Chicago.

He teaches Economics at the [[University of Athens]] since [[1989]] and has, at times, served as adviser to the Ministry of Finance, the [[Bank of Greece]], the [[Commercial Bank]] of [[Greece]], etc.

Stournaras was twice appointed as government minister: 
*From May till June [[2012]] he served as [[Minister for Economy (Greece)|Minister for Development and Competition]] in the caretaker government of [[Panagiotis Pikrammenos]]
*From June [[2012]] as [[Minister for Finance (Greece)|Minister for Finance]] in the coalition government of [[Antonis Samaras]].

Stournaras is married with two children.
