- 1901: During the "Evangelical Events", a student demonstration, by the temple of Olympian Zeus, turned bloody with 8 deaths.
- 1903: University students riot in Athens in protest of the play "Orestias" being performed in modern Greek. Three students will be killed by the Police.
- 1905: A major earthquake (7.5 on the Richter scale) strikes Mount Athos causing much damage.
- 1912: Greek forces enter the city of Mytilene during the First Balkan War.
- 1963: The new government under Georgios Papandreou is sworn in.
- 1968: Two Italians attempt to hijack an Olympic Airways aircraft after its departure from Orly Airport, Paris, France.
