Spiridon Trikoupis was a Greek politician and writer, born in Mesolongi, Aitoloakarnania prefecture in 1788. He was a close political associate of Alexandros Mavrokordatos whose sister he married. Of this union a son was born, future Prime Minister Charilaos Trikoupis. After retiring from politics, he authored a 4-volume work on the history of the Greek revolution.
Trikoupis died on February 12, 1873.
