1993: USSR leader, Mikhail Gorbachov, visits Athens.
1995: An initial agreement is reached in New York between FYROM and Greece: FYROM will remove the Vergina Star from their flag and amend their constitution to reflect the fact that they have no territorial claim against Greek Macedonia.
