1821: Alexander Ypsilantis crosses the Prut River with Olympios Georgakis and others and starts the Greek Revolution in Romania.
1863: The National Assembly elects Prince George of Denmark as the new King of Greece.
1910: Two farmers are shot dead by soldiers at Kileler in Thessaly, as demonstrations break out in the area.
1943: ELAS guerrilas attack a convoy of Italian occupation troops at Fardykampos near Siatista, Macedonia. They capture 600 prisoners and much war materiel.
1964: Constantine II becomes King of Greece upon the death of his father King Paul.
2005: The Spercheios River floods causing extensive property damage in the Phthiotis prefecture of Greece.
