- March 14: The Axis powers impose upon Greece a "loan" for their expenses in occupying the country. The loan was estimated in 1993 to be equivalent to US$9 billion of that time. The Axis powers promised to repay the loan "in the future".

- September 12: The Greek submarine Papanikolis put the commandos ashore at Kokkini Ammos, Rhodes who, with the help of two local men - Nikos Savvas and Georgios Kyrmichalis, made their way to the airports at Kalathos and Maritsa, where they destroyed German war planes.
