• 913: Constantine VII "Porfyrogenitos" is proclaimed Byzantine emperor.
• 1750: A major earthquake (7.2 on the Richter scale) strikes Kythera. 2,000 persons are killed.
• 1824: The destruction of Kassos takes place during the Greek War of Independence.
• 1834: Greek War of Independence hero, Theodoros Kolokotronis, is sentenced to death.
• 1958: Turkish-Cypriot extremists burn down the club offices of Olympiakos Lefkosia FC.
• 1959: The first elafro music festival in Greece, organized by the National Institute of Radio (Εθνικό Ίδρυμα Ραδιοφωνίας - EIR)
• 1989: Opposition leader, Constantine Mitsotakis, demands the deportation of the Turkish Consul to Komotini for direct involvement in the last Greek elections.
• 1991: Judicial authorities in Greece deside to prosecute all the newspapers that published the last proclamation of the Revolutionary Organisation 17 November.
• 1995: The trial of three Greek satanists starts in Athens. The three men are accused of murdering three women.

Sports

• 1991: Panagiotis Fassoulas scores 34 points, a personal record, against the national team of CIS and Greece wins with 93-85 during the FIBA Basketball Jubilee which is celebrated at the Piraeus Peace and Friendship Stadium.
• 2006: Panathinaikos win the Greek basketball championship sweeping all three playoff games from Olympiakos. The title is the 8th in the last nine years for the greens.
