Alexis Damianos was an actor, a director and a writer. He was born in Athens, Greece in 1921. He studied at the National Theatre Drama School and at the Athens University School of Philosophy. He founded the Experimental Theatre and the "Poria" theatre where he directed many of the productions. H has starred in numerous films by Greek directors such as Pantelis Voulgaris' The Thief, Dinos Katsouridis' Brief Interval, Costas Manoussakis' Fearand Lakis Papastathis' When the Greeks. - 1990-1995: returns to filmmaking with Eniochos (The Charioteer).
His films have won many awards and international recognition. He died on May 4, 2006
