Ganochora is a community in Eastern Thrace made up of the towns of Ganos (Gazikoy) and Chora (Sarkoy).
It is situated on the SW coast of E. Thrace and, prior to the Asia Minor Disaster of 1922, had a large Greek population. In 1919, according to the Treaty of Sevres, it became part of Greece and its inhabitants voted in the 1920 elections.
After the exchange of populations, following the Treaty of Lausanne, refugees from Ganochora established the town of Ganochora in Pieria prefecture, Macedonia, Greece.
