Nikos Dendias

Nikos Dendias is a Greek lawyer, politician and member of cabinet under two governments.

Dendias was born in Corfu, on October 7, 1959. He studied Law at the University of Athens with graduate studies in London.

In 2008, he was first elected to the Hellenic Parliament under the banner of New Democracy. He served as Minister for Justice, in the government of Kostas Karamanlis, between January and October 2009.

In 2012, he was appointed Minister for Public Order and Protection of the Citizen by PM Antonis Samaras.


Dendias is married to the former Daphne Lala. The couple have two children. Dendias speaks English and Italian.
