Vasilis Manginas is a former Greek Minister for Employment and Social Protection.
Manginas was born in Athens on October 22, 1949, to a family that originally came from Astakos, Aitoloakarnania prefecture. He studied Law and is a lawyer by profession.
Manginas represents Aitoloakarnania prefecture in the Hellenic Parliament since 1993, being elected under the banner of the conservative New Democracy Party. He assumed the post of Minister for Employment and Social Protection after the resignation of Savvas Tsitouridis on April 27, 2007.
Manginas was forced to resign his cabinet post on December 15, 2007, following accusations that he employed uninsured immigrants and had an improper permit for his holiday home.
