Dimitrios "Mitsos" Partsalidis was a Greek communist leader.
Partsalidis was born in 1905 in Trapezounta, in the Pontus region of Asia Minor. He came to Greece after the Asia Minor Disaster of 1922 and became involved in politics joining the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). He was the first communist to be elected Mayor of a Greek city (Kavala).
During the Greek Civil War, Partsalidis was named Head of the Provisional Democratic Government succeeding Nikolaos Zachariadis. The defeat of the communist Democratic Army of Greece (DSE) at the Battle of Grammos-Vitsi forced him into exile.
In 1953, after the death of Joseph Stalin, he was purged from membership of the KKE.
Partsalidis died in 1980.
