Born in 1942, Nikos Tzinis was a talented forward for Niki Volos who transferred to Olympiakos in 1963.

At Olympiakos he was no longer the "target man" but played outside-left (left wing) which did not suit him as well so his career in Piraeus only lasted two years. He was replaced by another Volos player, Vasilis Botinos.

Tzinis was capped once in his career by the Greek National Football Team.
