- January 30: Patriarch Constantine VI of Constantinople is deported by the Turkish government.

- June 24: Officers loyal to Theodoros Pangalos stage a coup. For the next two years, Pangalos will rule Greece by decree.
- June 28: The first ever Panathinaikos - Olympiakos soccer derby ends in a tie (3-3) at Leoforos

- October 6: Censorship and martial law are instituted by the Pangalos dictatorship.
- October 22: The Pangalos government in reaction to Bulgarian provocations, orders the advancement of Greek troops into Bulgarian grounds. They withdraw a week later under preassure from the League of Nations

- November 27: Theodoros Pangalos tries to assert his authority by holding a publicly held hanging execution; Drakakos and Zafeiropoulos were executed for embezzling public funds.
