- 1818: Grigoris Papaflessas is initiated into the Filiki Eteria.
- 1824: During the Greek War of Independence, the Egyptians capture and destroy the island of Psara.
- 1913: During the Second Balkan War, the Battle of Kilkis-Lahanas ends in victory for the Greek army.
- 1948: All nine men accused of murdering Justice Minister, Christos Ladas, on May 1, are found guilty and sentenced to death.
