- 1821: The revolting Greeks prevailed over the Turkish forces at Chalandri and took over Athens.
- 1918: The First Congress of Greek socialists was held, from which the Socialist Labour Party of Greece or SEKE (Greek: Σοσιαλιστικό Εργατικό Κόμμα Ελλάδας, Sosialistiko Ergatiko Komma Elladas) was born - a few years later it is renamed to Communist Party of Greece (Kommounistiko Komma Ellados, Κομμουνιστικό Κόμμα Ελλάδος, KKE).
- 1932: Panagis Tsaldaris was sworn in as Prime Minister after winning the September 26 elections with the Popular Party (Laiko Komma, Λαϊκό Κόμμα).
