- 1924: Nikolaos Plastiras and Stylianos Gonatas are promoted to the rank of Lt. General for their role in bringing down the Laiko Komma government after the Asia Minor Disaster.
- 1951: Right-wing officers belonging to IDEA stage an attempted coup which ends after the intervention of Gen Alexandros Papagos.
