Mimis Domazos

One of the greatest Greek midfielders ever. He was born in 22 January, 1942 in Neo Phaliro. In the summer of 1959, Mimis Domazos was transferred from the team Amyna Ampelokipon to Panathinaikos. The transfer cost Panathinaikos 9,000 drachmas! He had denied an offer from Olympiakos and had preferred to play for the team in his neighborhood. The General made his debut with Panathinaikos at age 17, and became the indisputable leader of Panathinaikos for almost two decades (12 Greek League titles, 3 Greek Cups) with only a brief interlude, in 1980, when he had a brief stint with AEK.
The culmination was the 1971 European Champions final against Ajax (0-2) at Wembley; it was the first time a Greek football reached a European final. Domazos captained also the Greek national football team (51 caps, 4 goals)
Mimis Domazos served as the first PSAP President - until December 10, 1978.
