Alekos Iordanou

Alekos Iordanou (Turkish Aleko Yordan), was a Turkish-born Greek football defender of the 1960s era.

Iordanou was born in Istanbul in 1936. He played for Pera Club (Beyogluspor) from 1956 until 1959 and Beykoz SK from 1960 until 1964. He was capped twice by the national football team of Turkey (12/12/62 v. Denmark and 16/12/62 v. Ethiopia). He then joined the defending champions of Greece AEK in the 1963-64 season and soon displaced Yiannis Marditsis as the first team's central defender. With AEK he won the league title in 1968 and the Cup in 1964 and 1966.

In the summer of 1969, Iordanou transferred to Aegaleo where he played for two years.

He died on September 21, 2019.
