Giorgos Charalambous was a Cypriot fighter during the EOKA struggle against the British (1955 - 1959).
Charalambous was born in 1938 in Kyperounta, Lemesos province, one of four children of Charalambos Themistokleous and Melani Charalambous. He worked as a builder and joined EOKA when the struggle for Enosis with Greece broke out in 1955.
On the night of March 4, 1956, he joined others in bomb attacks against British soldiers in the city of Limassol. One such bomb exploded in his hand and killed him. The British authorities after an autopsy to determine the cause of death, ordered that he be buried immediately.
At the time of his death Giorgos Charalambous was 18 years old.
