Michalis Chrysochoidis is a Greek politician, the current Minister of Public Order.

Chrysochoidis was born οn October 31, 1955, near Veria, to parents from Asia Minor. He studied Law at the University of Thessaloniki.

He became involved in politics and was first elected to the Hellenic Parliament in 1989, under the banner of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK).

Chrysochoidis has served three times as Minister of Public Order: under PM Costas Simitis, PM Giorgos Papandreou and PM Lucas Papademos.

From September 7, 2010 until March 7, 2012, he served as Minister for Regional Development and Competition.

He is married with three children.
