Anna Synodinou was a Greek stage and screen actress and one-time politician and MP.
Synodinou was born on April 21, 1927, in Loutraki, Corinthia prefecture. She studied in the Drama School of the National Theatre and starred, on stage, in many ancient plays and Shakespearian dramas.
On the screen she made a name for herself playing Queen Gorgo in the 1962 hit film "300 Spartans". Her other films include "Thanasakis o politevomenos" (Thanasis the politician), "Dollaria kai oneira" (Dollars and Dreams), "O anthropos tou trainou" (The man from the train).
She stood for parliament and was elected under the banner of the New Democracy party in 1974, 1977, 1981, 1985 and 1989.
Synodinou died on January 7, 2016.
