- 380: Constantinople becomes the capital of the Roman Empire.
- 1934: Labour demonstrations in Kalamata turn bloody as police kill four demostrators.
- 1964: Two Greek officers and a Greek Cypriot policeman are machine-gunned to death in Famagusta. Another Greek officer is injured. The four men were in a vehicle that was stopped by Turkish-Cypriot irregulars.
