  • May 6: The National Bank of Greece announces that it will also grant loans to women.
  • May 26: German and Bulgarian forces invade eastern Macedonia and come under fire from Greek border guards at Fort Roupel.
  • May 27: Fort Roupel is surrendered, by Major Ioannis Mavroudis, to German and Bulgarian forces. He was under orders to do so by the government in Athens.

  • December 1: French and British forces land in Piraeus to occupy strategic posts in that city as well as Athens. They are met in ambush by royalist forces and battles take place with casualties on both sides. After their departure, a pogrom breaks out against Venizelists throughout Greece. These events went down in history as the November Events (Noemvriana) because they took place on November 18 (OS).
