1915: Eleftherios Venizelos' Liberal Party wins 185 parliamentary seats (out of 316) in the national elections.
1924: Nikolaos Plastiras and Stylianos Gonatas are promoted to the rank of Lt. General for their role in bringing down the Laiko Komma government after the Asia Minor Disaster.
1945: Gen Georgios Tsolakoglou is found guilty of treason and sentenced to death. His sentence will later be commuted to life imprisonment.
1951: Right-wing officers belonging to IDEA stage an attempted coup which ends after the intervention of Gen Alexandros Papagos.
1957: Former ELAS commander Stefanos Sarafis is killed by a car driven by a US NCO. EDA calls it premeditated murder.
1987: The first private radio station Athena 9,84 FM began broadcasting.

1981: PAOK coach Gyula Lorant suffers a heart attack and dies during a football match.
1995: Aris Vovos with his co-driver Kostas Stefanis win the 42nd Acropolis Rally with a Lancia Delta HF Integrale. It is the first time in the last 40 years that a Greek crew wins the Acropolis Rally after Johnny Pesmatzoglou in 1955 with an Opel Kapitan
1998: Greece U21 rank 2nd after losing to Spain 1-0 in the final of European Football Championship.
