Atticus was a cleric from Sebasteia in Armenia who served as Patriarch of Constantinople.

Atticus was from Sebasteia in Armenia. In his youth, he followed the heresy of Macedonius but abandoned it later in life.

He was ordained in 406 AD following the brief reign of Arsacius of Tarsus (June 26, 404 - November 11, 405). During his own reign, he persecuted the followers of John Chrysostom.

Atticus rededicated, in 415, the Church of Holy Wisdom (Hagia Sophia) which was damaged in a fire in 404. The following year, he attempted reconciliation with the followers of John Chrysostom thus ending the division in the Church.

Atticus was the Patriarch who baptised the pagan Athenais, naming her Eudocia, prior to her wedding to Emperor Theodosius II in 421 AD.

He died on October 10 425.
