Giorgos Kasnaferis

Giorgos Kasnaferis is a retired Greek football referee.

Kasnaferis was born on February 10, 1967. He graduated the Athens Polytechnic institute with a degree in Civil Engineering and is director of the Athletic Organisation of the Municipality of Marousi, Athens.

Kasnaferis became a football referee in 1985. He first officiated an Alpha Ethniki match in 1996 and became an international referee in 1998. Though descended from Argolis, he belonged to the Athens Officiating Federation.

On December 22, 2007, Kasnaferis very controversially walked off the pitch during injury time of the PAOK - Levadiakos match leaving the fourth official to finish off the match. He subsequently underwent a hearing by the Hellenic Football Federation on charges of "defamation of the sport of football".

On May 17, 2008, Kasnaferis officiated the final of the Greek Football Cup between Olympiakos and Aris and retired.
