Giorgos Lianis is a Greek former football player and politician.
Lianis was born in Amyntaio, Florina prefecture, on September 3, 1942. He briefly (1962 - 1964) played for Iraklis.
Since then, he has been elected to Parliament under the banner of PASOK and even served as Deputy Minister of Athletics.
Lianis is the cousin of Dimitra Liani, widow of Andreas Papandreou.
In June 2011, Lianis quit the PASOK party in protest of PM Giorgos Papandreou's austerity measures. He remained in Parliament as an independent.
