  • July 1: Former Crown Prince Pavlos marries American Marie-Chantal Miller in London. 10 New Democracy MPs attend the wedding causing a stir in Greek politics.
  • July 20: Turkish-Cypriot leader, Rauf Denktash, threatens to declare union of the militarily-occupied northern part of Cyprus with Turkey, should the Republic of Cyprus join the European Union.
