- January 10: EOKA fighter Fotis Pittas is arrested by the British.
- January 18: EOKA guerilla fighter, Markos Drakos, is ambushed and slain by the British at Solea, Cyprus.
February
- February 14: The trial of EOKA fighter, Evagoras Pallikaridis, commences.
- February 17: EOKA fighter Stylianos Lenas is wounded in a battle with British soldiers.

- March 2: The Battle of Machairas begins as the British come upon the cave where Grigoris Afxentiou and his men were hiding out.
- March 3: The Battle of Machairas concludes in the early hours of the morning, with the death by burning of Grigoris Afxentiou.
- March 14: Evagoras Pallikaridis is hanged in the Central Jail of Lefkosia.
