- 1821: Alexander Ypsilantis crosses the Prut River with Olympios Georgakis and others and starts the Greek Revolution in Romania.
- 1863: The National Assembly elects Prince George of Denmark as the new King of Greece.
- 1910: Two farmers are shot dead by soldiers at Kileler in Thessaly, as demonstrations break out in the area.
- 1919: Greek forces battle Bolsheviks at Odessa during the Ukraine Expedition.
- 1933: Gen. Nikolaos Plastiras attempts an unsuccessful coup d'etat against the newly-elected Popular Party government. Gen. Alexandros Othonaios forms a government.
- 1943: ELAS guerrilas attack a convoy of Italian occupation troops at Fardykampos near Siatista, Macedonia. They capture 600 prisoners and much war materiel.
- 1964: Constantine II becomes King of Greece upon the death of his father King Paul.
