- February 16: Andreas Papandreou inaugurates the Stadium of Peace and Friendship in Neo Phaliro, Piraeus.
- February 21: Publisher Nikos Momferatos of the daily paper Apogevmatini and his driver are killed in Kolonaki. The Revolutionary Organisation 17 November assume responsibility.

- November 17: 15-year old Michalis Kaltezas is shot dead by Police officer Athanasios Melistas during rioting marking the 12th anniversary of the attack on the Athens Polytechnic Institute.
- November 26: Officer Ioannis Georgakopoulos is killed when a bomb explodes near a MAT bus by the Hilton Hotel in downtown Athens. The Revolutionary Organization 17 November assume responsibility.
