January

• January 11: French forces occupy Kerkyra.
• January 15: PM Stephanos Skouloudis protests the occupation of Kerkyra by the French.
• January 18: The first evacuated Serb soldiers arrive in Kerkyra.

February

• February 1: Italian army units land in Kerkyra.

March

• March 21: Retreating Serbian forces land in Kerkyra.

May

• May 6: The National Bank of Greece announces that it will also grant loans to women.
• May 26: German and Bulgarian forces invade eastern Macedonia and come under fire from Greek border guards at Fort Roupel.
• May 27: Fort Roupel is surrendered, by Major Ioannis Mavroudis, to German and Bulgarian forces. He was under orders to do so by the government in Athens.

June

• June 14: Venizelos' followers organized a military movement in Thessaloniki, called the "Provisional Government of National Defence". There they founded a new state including Northern Greece and Aegean Islands.

July

• July 13: A fire destroys the Royal summer palace at Tatoi.

August

• August 30: Greek officers in Thessaloniki rebel against the monarchist government in Athens and form the government of the National Defence Movement.

September

• September 11: The Greek 4th Army Corps in eastern Macedonia surrenders to the Germans. It will remain in captivity in Silesia until the end of World War I.
• September 23: Eleftherios Venizelos leaves for Thessaloniki with 300 of his followers to take charge of the National Defence Movement.

October

• October 10: Spiridon Lampros forms a government that in effect only controls southern Greece.

November

• November 21: The HMS Britannic sinks off the coast of Kea.
• November 26: The Venizelist government in Greece declares war against Germany in WWI

December

• December 1: French and British forces land in Piraeus to occupy strategic posts in that city as well as Athens. They are met in ambush by royalist forces and battles take place with casualties on both sides. After their departure, a pogrom breaks out against Venizelists throughout Greece. These events went down in history as the November Events (Noemvriana) because they took place on November 18 (OS).
